If you have a care plan in place you may be eligible for bulk-billing allied health services such as: podiatry, physiotherapy, dietician, chiropractor, mental health care plan, etc. All the usual GP services are offered as well as:

Payment of Fees

We request payment of fees at the time of consultation. EFTPOS or credit card is preferred. An additional $10 will be charged when accounts are not settled at that time. A cancellation fee may be charged if 2 hours notice is not given.

Bulk-Billing

Sunday appointments are mixed billing. Only patients under 16yrs of age, concession card holders and DVA card holders are bulk billed, all other patients will need to pay an out of pocket fee on the day of their visit. If you have any questions please speak to our reception staff for more information.

After Hours Service

After hours medical service is provided by the Australian Locum Medical Service by either phoning the clinic or calling Doctor Doctor Locum Service on 13 26 60

Appointments

Consultation with your preferred GP is available by appointment. A standard consultation takes about 10 minutes. If you feel more time may be necessary, such as for travel advice or a pap smear, please advise our receptionist at the time of booking. Other services such as Pre-employment and Insurance medicals do not have Medicare rebates and must be paid on the day.

By running on an appointment system, we try to keep waiting time to a minimum, however, delays do occur from time to time and preference is given to those with appointments. We are a mixed billing clinic, with bulk billing available for all patients holding a valid Medicare card, with a few exceptions:

If you hold a current health care or pension card, please present it to the reception staff on arrival for each visit.

We prefer patients to book specific appointment times. If you need appointments for multiple family members, we recommend booking two consecutive appointments. If you anticipate needing more time with the doctor, please book a longer appointment. Longer consultations are required for services such as pre-employment medicals. Please check with the receptionist to confirm appointment times for these services.

Emergency cases are treated as quickly as possible depending on urgency. While we strive to keep waiting times to a minimum, delays do occasionally occur, and preference is given to those with appointments.

Cancellation Policy: If you are unable to attend your appointment, please cancel at least one hour prior to the scheduled time to avoid a cancellation fee. Masks are required at all times in the clinic. Please note that Sunday’s opening hours are subject to doctor availability.

Services Offered

If you have a care plan in place you may be eligible for bulk-billing allied health services such as: podiatry, physiotherapy, dietician, chiropractor, mental health care plan, etc. All the usual GP services are offered as well as:

This clinic provides wheelchair access and up to date computer prescribing.
We hope to provide the highest level of care and continuity of our patients. Please let the reception staff know if you have any concerns or suggestions as to how we can better our services.

Appointments

Routine appointments are made every 10 minutes. If you feel you may require more time with the doctor please book a longer appointment. Longer consultations will be needed for medical reports, e.g. Pre- Employment Medical – Please check with the receptionist. Emergency cases are treated as quickly as possibly depending on the urgency. By running on an appointment system, we try to keep waiting time to a minimum, however, delays do occur from time to time and preference is given to those with appointments. If you are unable to attend your appointment, please call two hours prior to cancel, as a $15 fee applies for missed appointments.

Billing

We are a bulk billing practice, however some consultations may attract a fee. If you have a current health care card or pension card please present it to the receptionist along with your Medicare card when you arrive for each visit. TAC and work cover accounts are charged to the patient on the day if they have not yet received a claim number. Other services such as pre-employment and insurance medical do not have Medicare rebate and are charged and attract a GST charge. For those without Medicare, our fees are $65 for a standard consultation and $80 for a long consultation. Please ensure you attend any appointment you make, as a non-attendance fee for the full consultation will be charged and this is not refunded through Medicare. Fees may be charged for transfer of Medical Records to other Medical Centres.

Test Results

All tests are examined by the referring doctor. However, you are advised to come in if you wish to discuss your results. The clinic will contact you if the doctor feels that the test results need further action. Patients should be seen by the doctor who ordered the test to ensure continuity of care.

Reminders

Patients are offered this service for various follow up appointment e.g.: pap smears, care plans, health check,. If you don’t want to be on a recall system, please advise receptionist or nurse.

After Hours Service

After hours medical service is provided by the Australian Locum Medical Service by either phoning the clinic or calling Doctor Doctor Locum Service on 13 26 60.

Home Visits

Home visits may be provided to people too sick to attend the clinic and living in immediate vicinity and must be a regular patient of the practice. Home visits are not Bulk billed by our doctors.

Privacy

In line with Australian Privacy Principles 2014, your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.

Patient Feedback

You are encouraged to see the doctor of your choice. We endeavour to ensure continuity of care with appointments with the same doctor, whenever possible.

Repeat Prescriptions and Referrals

We believe it is in the best interest of your health to see you personally for scripts and referrals. A short consultation will avoid communication errors and inappropriate health management.

Telephoning the doctor

A doctor or nurse will be available for telephone calls in emergency situations. For all other requests, including obtaining test results, you will need to make an appointment to see the doctor in a consultation. This is important for improved communication, medico legal reasons and appropriate health care.

Phone calls

Regarding phone calls from patients. If the doctor is unavailable at the time of your call a message will be taken and relayed.

Computerised Medical Records

The Clinic uses Medical Director for paperless computerised medical records and will be moving to utilise the PCEHR – personal national electronic health record system.
